Energy Reduction

Building Envelope

The building envelope consists of a building’s walls, windows, roof, and foundation. A major factor in lowering energy costs is to secure the building envelope first. EnerG3 uses well-established tools and techniques to ensure there is minimal heat transfer throughout the building to reduce the amount of energy needed for heating and cooling. EnerG3 specializes in both Window Film and Cool Roof Coatings to reduce building envelope inefficiencies.

Cool Roof Coatings

A cool roof is one that has been designed or retrofitted to reflect sunlight and absorb less heat than a standard roof. With a cool roof coating, internal roof air temperature drops approximate 40 degrees. This immediate temperature drop can improve indoor comfort without using electricity for cooling reduce overall energy costs.

  • Reduce energy costs associated with air conditioning.
  • Increase occupant comfort and avoid installing additional air conditioning units.
  • Decreasing the size and prolong the life of existing AC unit.
  • Reduce HVAC maintenance costs.
  • Extend the life of your roof.
  • Receive utility rebates for energy reduction.
  • Apply to new or existing buildings without voiding the roof’s warranty.

Window Film

Windows are a significant component of a building’s envelope and ensuring they are as efficient as possible can save energy, reduce costs, and improve occupant comfort. Window film, a thin film or laminate retrofit coating, can help you achieve energy cost savings while delivering several additional benefits.

About 40% of cooling requirements are due to solar energy entering through glass. Window film reduces energy costs, enhances comfort, reduces UV radiation, and prevents fading of furniture and fabrics. Window films have the ability to significantly cut HVAC usage during peak hours, further reducing energy costs, and demand charges. Typically, building owners will see a far better return-on-investment with window film compared to replacing the entire window.

Energy Savings

  • Reduce solar heat gain 70-90%.
  • Reject 99.9% of UV rays.
  • Prolong lifespan of HVAC equipment.

Appearance

  • Low “mirror-like” effects enhance the appearance of your building’s exterior.
  • Reduce fading of upholstery, floors, and other interior fixtures.

Security

  • Impact protection will hold glass together if shattered.
  • Prevent outsiders from seeing into your building with darker shades of film.
